Why an all Keto Wedding?
So many people asked me why I was having a Keto wedding, others asked what is Keto? The answer is easy it is now my way of life.
If any of you have been following me on social media you know that I have been using SlimFast Products for over two years now. Wait don’t stop reading this is not a commercial, I am just sharing some back story for my new readers.
I started using SlimFast in August of 2017. I lost 30 pounds in 28 weeks and kept it off for over a year. In October of 2018 I found out that they were launching a new Keto Line and I got really excited. I thought I was happy at the weight I had reached but I wanted to try Keto. I had heard so much about it. I followed the plan and lost an additional 27 pounds on the SlimFast Keto. I reached my goal weight of 135 pounds and have continued to maintain that weight with the maintenance plan. That is a total of 57 pounds gone thanks to SlimFast, hard work, and dedication to myself.
As my weight loss journey was happening, life was happening all around me as well. In October of 2018 my boyfriend at the time Sam asked me to marry him. I was so excited. I was going to marry my best friend. The man who picked me up when I was down. The man who encouraged me to help me reach all of my goals in life so far. I was over the moon.
As we started planning the wedding we started talking about our menu and cake options. I tossed around so many ideas when it came to this part of the wedding. By the time we were planning the wedding a good majority of my family were following the Keto Lifestyle as well. It finally clicked that it was a no brainer to have a full Keto menu and a keto friendly cake at the wedding. Why would I live that lifestyle everyday and not follow it on our wedding day.
We worked with an amazing caterer and baker out of Trenton, Florida. They helped in coming up with so many options and recipes. The menu was amazing.
I was a bit worried as to what our guest were going to think. I mean not everyone is eating the Keto lifestyle, but then I thought back to my own household. Our children do not follow a strict Keto lifestyle, but we enjoy dinner together most nights and they do not seem to miss certain foods on nights I do not feel like making them. We quickly realized that all of our guest had so many options. No one would leave our wedding hungry. The options were endless.
I later spoke to some of our guest about the menu. I wanted to see how they felt about us having a full Keto friendly menu. So many of our guest told us they had no idea they would have so many options on a keto diet. Many were surprised at the ability to have so many of your favorite foods just created a different way.
It can be as simple as changing out breadcrumbs to coat something, to using crushed pork rinds or almond flour. The options are endless and my goal was to show others that keto really is a lifestyle and can be followed at any event in your life.
For our family food is centered around so many special events, by changing up the menu to be keto friendly we are all able to stay on plan and still enjoy the event.
Just remember if you are living the keto lifestyle to reach a goal like a wedding day or a cruise, you do not have to stop the day of your event. You can make it keto friendly and continue your new lifestyle with no speed bumps.
Keto on Everyone!!
